Company Members’ Biographies

Lori Dillon was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and began her dance training in ballet at the age of five. In her four years as a dance major at the Milwaukee High school of the Arts, she studied ballet, Jazz, modern, tap, composition and ethnic forms of dance. Lori obtained a BA degree in Art History from the UW-Madison in December 2000. She has worked with and studied under independent choreographers and national dance companies including the Iberian Spanish Dance Company of Milwaukee, Ko Thi Dance Company, Li Chiao-Ping, Bob Eisen, Molissa Fenley, Sean Curran, Pat Catterson, June Finch, and Gloria McLean. Dillon has begun working with independent choreographers Cheronne Wong and Pablo Cornejo in Seattle.

Yun-Chen Liu began her dance training in Chinese dance at the age of six. She attended Tainan Junior College (TJC) in Taiwan on a dance scholarship from 1988 to 1993. She performed with TJC Dance Company and toured to more than ten major cities in Taiwan. Ms. Liu also studied Chinese opera dance, modern dance, and ballet. She received her B.S. in Dance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she worked with many choreographers including James Sutton, Li Chiao-Ping, Sean Curran, and Molissa Fenley.

Ms. Liu’s dancing has been claimed "stunning" by LA Times and "exceptional control" by the Capital Times.

Collette Stewart holds a BFA in Modern Dance from Texas Christian University and has her certificate as a Pilates instructor from the Pilates Center in Boulder, CO. For two years, Collette danced as a member of Li Chiao-Ping Dance in Madison, WI. As a dancer, actor and singer, Collette has performed with a variety of groups. Collette danced as a member of Contemporary Dance/ Fort Worth for three years and spent four years singing with the jim squires band. While in New York, Collette choreographed and performed with 1*4*8 the collective, a collaborative dance and theater company, and also performed with DixieFun Dance Theater. As a choreographer, she has been presented by the Joyce Soho in New York, Li Chiao-Ping Dance, the New Mexico Dance Alliance, Contemporary Dance/ Fort Worth, the SoSoHo Performance Series in South Carolina and many others. Collette is also featured as a model in the book Pilates: body in motion. In addition to teaching modern dance at the University of Wisconsin, Collette serves as director of Movement Insights where she teaches yoga, Pilates and imagery-alignment work.

Lighting Designer’s Biography

Claude Heintz has been creating lighting for dance since designing his first Nutcracker Ballet in 1983. He holds an MFA in Theater Arts (Lighting Design) from the University of Oregon, where his design for the dance/drama Kabuki-Bacchae was recognized with a Kennedy Center award for best lighting design. Mr. Heintz is the author of MacLux Pro, a state of the art visualization and planning software application for lighting design which is used worldwide by professionals and colleges. He joined the University of Wisconsin Dance Program in the Fall of 1998. Since that time his work has been seen in over a dozen productions in Madison. Highlights in the Margaret H’Doubler include, Li Chiao-Ping and Douglas Rosenberg’s Odyssey, Jin-Wen Yu’s Interphase (1999) and Interplay (2000), Intercommunity (2002), Intervision (2002). Other Madison productions include: Li Chiao-Ping Dance at the Oscar Mayer Theatre and Jin-Wen Yu Dance’s Interchange at the Isthmus Playhouse and Interspace in the Oscar Mayer. Other projects with Jin-Wen Yu Dance include the Interflow tour, Boston, San Francisco, and Kaohsiung, Taipei and Taichung ROC; Interweave , Amherst, MA; Intercity. Chicago; Intercommunity.
